***********************************************************************

I. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
     * An IBM-compatible computer with a Pentium 75 MHz processor.
     * Sixteen megabytes (16 MB) of RAM.
     * Windows 95.
     * An SVGA graphics card and SVGA color monitor.
     * A 2X CD-ROM drive.
     * Windows(R) compatible sound card with DAC.
     * A mouse.

***********************************************************************

II. GENERAL TECHNICAL ISSUES
1. The game must be played with the colors in the Windows 95 program
set on the default setting. If it is not, inappropriate colors may
   randomly appear on game screens.

2. If you start playing the NFLPI97 league and decide to eliminate that
league and go back the original, here is what you do:

     A. Quit out of any games before proceeding.
     B. In DOS, go to the football subdirectory.
     C. Type del NFLPI97.*.
     D. Copy (your cd drive name)\fbpro98\NFLPI97.*.

3. For some video and audio boards, DirectX 5 overwrites the drivers
without prompting you to see if you want to have that done. Some
of the newer cards such as:

       Video: Matrox Millenium
       Audio: Some AWE32 sound boards

cause Football Pro '98 (or any DirectX 5 product) to crash when
run because the original manufacturers drivers were overwritten
   by the DirectX install program.

If you notice that this program installed DirectX 5 on your computer
and the product fails to run, you should first check with your sound
and/or video manufacturer for newer versions of the drivers.

4. The minimum installation requires 150 megs of hard drive space.

***********************************************************************

III. GENERAL GAME ISSUES
1. The game defaults to run in Full Screen mode as a result of the automatic
installation of DirectX 5. If you prefer to run it in a window, select
the Screen=Window on the Options screen. Alternatively, you may edit the
Setup.ini found in the main directory and change the entry under
   [Overall] Screen=DD to Screen=Window.

2. The game defaults to run DirectDraw in 16 Bit color. If it cannot go into
16 Bit color, it will try 8 Bit color. If you wish it to always come up in
8 Bit Color, edit the Setup.ini found in the main directory and change the
entry under [Overall] Color=16 to Color=8.

3. CONVERTING OLD LEAGUES / PLANS / PROFILES
If you have leagues in FB '95 format, you will need to run FpsUpOld to
convert them to FB '96/'97 format.

If you have leagues in FB '96 or '97 format, you will need to run FpsUpDat
to convert them to FB '98 format.

Any profiles you have need to be converted to FB '98 format using FpsPup.

Any plans using stock plays will need to be converted to FB '98 format
   using FpsUpPl.

Any plans using stock plays will need to be converted to FB '98 format
   using FpsUpPl.

4. IN EXHIBITION GAMES:

   a. If a team is not ready to play (its roster isn't filled), the team
will not appear in the list.
   b. If all of the teams are not ready to play, you'll be returned to the
      Main Menu screen.
   c. If you try to load a league that doesn't have ANY teams that are ready
to play, you'll be prompted to load a different league.

5. PRINT TO FILE AND WEB PAGES

The OPTIONS SCREEN "print to" options for FILE and WEB PAGE save files to
the user's hard drive. If you select "Print to File," your files are saved
to the subdirectory PRINTOUT under the game directory FBPRO98 or whatever
you chose to name the directory where you installed the game. If you select
"Print to Web Page," your files are saved in the subdirectory WEBPAGES
under the game directory FBPRO98 or wherever you chose to install the game.

6. MINIMIZING PLAY-BY-PLAY AUDIO TO DOWNS, YARDS, AND KICKING INTRO ONLY!

The Audio Play-by-play with minimal (downs and yards) audio playcalling is
currently set to "Off" which is the default setting. This means that you
get the full blown intro and commentary play results. To minimize the sound
and limit it to the audio Downs, Yards, and Kickoff Intro ONLY, you have to
edit a file and manually change the setting. This will turn "On" a switch
that limits the audio to downs, yards, and kicking intro.

Run any text editor, and load the file "setup.ini" that is located in the
directory where you installed Football Pro '98.

The default setting for FULL audio play-by-play: AudioPBPMinimal=Off
Change to setting for LIMITED audio play-by-play: AudioPBPMinimal=On

This text is case sensitive. So, type it exactly as you see it above. Save
the file using the same name. Exit out of the text editor, and run Football
Pro '98 as you normally would.

7. The Players Rating Editor has been pulled from the product. Please disregard
   all references to it.

         2. Checks in Exhibition play for identically named leagues that are
             not identical.
         3. When the other player selects a play, you will be told whether
it is a regular or special play.
	   4. Chat integrated into the main window - accessed by F8.

     f. New Cameras and angles.

         this year).

     j. Audio Play-By-Play.
     k. Hall Of Fame changes/fixes.

     m. Volume control on Shell Music, Audio Play-By-Play and Arcade sound
effects.(No audible switch in game profile - not yet implemented.)

             in progress.)

         3. Injuries shown in lower-right corner of play screen (in addiiton
to in the text play-by-play) so it will be easier to notice.
