Introduction
Goal: To create a league that resembles NFL football as closely as possible on a personal computer using Sierra's Front Page Sports: Football 98.
The rules have been created to maintain a level of fairness and playability in the PNFL. In the event of problems not covered by these rules, the commissioner shall be the final arbiter after consulting with the league officers.
All owners are expected to take part each week. The primary responsibility of all owners, is to respond to all emails received by all other owners in a timely fashion & meet all league deadlines as laid out by the commissioner. If you cannot take part in any given week, you need to post on the message board & notify the commissioner of this and when you expect to return.
Penalties up to and including expulsion shall be considered for violations, but in the end rules can only do so much: the league can only be fun for its participants if all owners combine competitiveness with honor and decency toward their opponents. There is even a term for this combination of qualities. It's called "sportsmanship."
League Files and Directories
1) All players must use Sierra's FPS Football Pro '98 WITH THE FINAL PATCH (Patch 1.08).
2) The game should be installed into C:\SIERRA\FBPRO98.
3) All players must create a C:\SIERRA\FBPRO98\PNFL subdirectory for the League files and the Custom Play files.
Always unzip the latest league files to the PNFL subdirectory, choosing the option to overwrite existing files.
Note: Unlike UNIX, Win95/98 does not care whether you use upper or lower case letters. So do not worry if your subdirectories don't use the identical case as shown here.

For the 2016 season, here is a quick start up for joining the PNFL:Welcome to the league.....and I'll be happy to help you get started.
First, I am assuming you have installed the game and applied the patch v1.08
If so, the only directory you need to add to your files is PNFL.
So, your files will look like C:\Sierra\FbPro98\PNFL
When you load in the league files each week, you will make sure they get placed in C:\Sierra\FbPro98\PNFL
When you open the game itself, click "options"
This takes you to Game Settings.....from here click the default league button and find the C:\Sierra\FbPro98\PNFL directory and then select our league PNFL.
Then select your team and accept settings. Now each time you open the game, our league will show up and your team will be team that shows up when you go inside.
As for the plays we use:
Go to the website and click the "files & downloads" link.
On the right hand side of the page you will see 6 files under PNFL Play Database.
Just download the 3 files with the EXE extension. They are 2016 Offense.exe---2016 Defense.exe---2016 Special.exe
Once you download them, you click each one of them it will be automatically trying to extract them to the root of C:\
This is correct, make sure it says extract to C:\
This exe file will automatically create all the new folders for you.
Do this for each of the 3 files and afterward, you will see inside explorer that you now have 3 new folders in your
C:\Sierra\FbPro98\PNFL directory.
C:\Sierra\FbPro98\PNFL\Offense
C:\Sierra\FbPro98\PNFL\Defense
C:\Sierra\FbPro98\PNFL\Special
Inside the Offense and Defense will be more folders with all our plays broken into categories by play type.
