The flaw in fbpro defensive numbers is, the best stats are usually with the worst teams. Tackles are higher the worse you are because you are on the field more.

Having said that, I am giving DPOY to:
Bills S Jack Baxter
Leads best defensive team in tackles with 61
Has 2 sacks
Has 3 interceptions
Clearly he is my impact defensive player.
No further discussion, give him the awardicon_biggrin

Here is how it will go though:
MVP---Aaron Rodgers
ROY---Jake Locker
OPOY---Aaron Rodgers & Jake Locker
DPOY---LaMarr Woodley & Tyson Jackson
COY---Dean Chambers

Buffalo will have 4 All Pro players on OFF
Buffalo will have 9 All Pro players on DEF
Buffalo will have 2 specials on All Pro.

Looking at team tackles, there's really not a ton of variation between teams. The team with the most tackles has only 15% more than the team with the fewest.

My first DPOY search wasn't very systematic so I missed a few things. Here's a better version:

1. S Jack Baxter Bills, 61 Tackles, 2 Sacks, 3 INTs
1. S Donte Whitner Jaguars, 64 Tackles, 2 Sacks, 3 INTs, 1 Fumble Recovery
3. DE Mario Williams Raiders, 24 Tackles, 10 sacks.

On the Bubble: S Tom Nelson, DE Mathias Kiwanuka, S LaRon Landry, LB Chad Greenway.

Baxter has a very slight edge in % of team tackles over Whitner, but Whitner has a fumble recovery and Baxter does not.

Well, the game will not see it rationally. They will give it to someone with inferior statistics and we will have to assume there are intangibles there we just cannot see.

Not this year....it wont be Tebow-like player. It usually picks the QB with the best stats but the defensive players are usually head scratchers.
But fbpro gods will have to explain the DPOY its about to pick!

I wouldn't event give Williams defensive player on my team s Eric Weddle 73 tackles 1 int 6 sack and 2 fumble recoveries and that was with missing the last few weeks.

Weddle doesnt get included because there are too many other safeties with better or equal stats. The league leader in sacks belongs on the list.

Though awards have already been decided and went just as Bills 's simulation predicted. Rodgers won 2nd consecutive MVP and NFC OPOY. AFC OPOY and ROY to Jake Locker. NFC DPOY to tyson jackson and AFC DPOY to Woodley. Dean snagged COY honors.

Great job on all the coaches Rich!!
It was fun to look back at some of the old timers. I'm glad we have our history documented.
