You should have all noticed the new play design rule posted last week. This rule was done to create a clear definable set of parameters. The play database had become blended where PSL plays were the same as PLR plays for all practical purposes. The new guidelines should make play design easier and clearly define what category the play is placed in. It should also still allow plenty of ingenuity in design.

Here is what was done to bring the database into compliance with the new rule. Each play was looked at and all plays not meeting the new criteria were pulled out and two things occurred. If the play was for example a PSL play and it was regularly called and would be defined as a PML or PLR play with a change, then it was saved with a new name into that category. The play in PSL was then edited to make it compliant as a PSL and saved. The edits would be only what was needed to make it complaint. There were QB logic changes that just changed the order the QB checked receivers and/or changes to routes. The changes were made to change as little as possible, but some took more changes than others. Please review these changes plays you have submitted before the season and tweak if you wish and resubmit them for review. This also means you need to test your PPP's since many of the changes affected popular plays and I suspect many will not be as efficient. Certainly the avg per completion will be less. Plays that were effective short already should not be impacted.

Again, please review your PPP's and run some games to make sure you are happy. Those who have plays in the database make sure you tweak if you want. Also as you gameplan and check plays, if you find any that were missed and are not compliant, please point them out for correction. Let me know if you have any questions.
