Dropping RM from 10 to 5 is too extreme in my opinion. If decided to lower the number of RMs, I believe the 8 is as low as we should go. I'd be comfortable with the follow:
10 RM (3 QB runs)
or
8 RM (2 QB runs)

Re: GAME PLAN REQUIREMENT PROPOSAL:
I have not finalized my opinion on this topic yet. However, Google states the average NFL team has 15-20 run plays in their weekly game plan. Therefore 8-RM, 4-RL, and 4-RR are within NFL parameters (16). Add the 3 GLR runs, and it is (19), also within NFL averages. If we drop to 8-RMs, it does not affect any game plan, as it is not required to have only eight; you can still have 10, 12, or 20.
BTW, I think that the 6 PRDs and 6 RRDs plays have merit! Also, not opposed to 4 GLP and 4 GLR plays, a one-play increase in each.

Re: GAME PLAN REQUIREMENT PROPOSAL:
I do not support using only 5 run middles. I prefer the 8-10 that we have always used.
I also prefer we keep all GL on offense and defense at 3.
We just changed that rule a couple seasons ago to create a parity.
I am neutral on increasing RD defenses to 6
